“ A truly lovely place for an evening. The staff couldn’t have been more lovely and accommodating. Rosy was a joy to deal with. Such a gorgeous building with the chance to have a glass of wine overlooking the river. The food was absolutely delicious, wonderful fresh fish and local cheeses. I look forward to coming back. ”

I had crispy calamari for starter, roast turkey for main and ginger pudding with cornish ice cream for dessert. My wife had crispy calamari for starter, pork belly for main, and cheesecake for dessert. All the food was lovely. The staff were all very nice. Had lovely meal in a lovely atmosphere. “ Amazing Sunday roast. 3 of us sat on the terrace overlooking the river. Such a gem of a place and the food is incredible and very reasonably priced for the quality. Didn’t catch the name of our server but she was very welcoming and attentive too! I’ll be back! ”
“ Not the first time we've eaten here and won't be the last. Food was delicious, as it has been each time we've visited. The menu changes frequently, and always features original dishes with beautiful flavours. This time I went for the beetroot and horseradish soup. It was delicious and very nicely presented. The service is first class. The proprietor is very friendly and attentive and clearly has high expectations of the waiting team to be the same. When food and service is this good you expect that the bill might be eye watering but prices here are very reasonable given the quality. Small plates roughly 9 and mains 17-20 if I recall correctly. It's a lovely setting too, overlooking the river, and being a bit out of town it's not overrun with people and has an intimate feel. Thanks to the whole team. We can't wait to come back. ”
“ We had a great riverside dinner, we managed to book a table outside so enjoyed the river view. The staff were wonderfully friendly and welcoming and looked after us attentively throughout our meal. We each enjoyed three courses and each course was beautifully presented and the flavours of each was superb. We were a mixed table with both meat eaters and vegetarians. All of our needs were met and I would have no hesitation in recommending the Boatman to anyone looking for something a bit special in terms of location and food. ”
